Welcome, ICLW

Welcome ICLW! It's been awhile since I've participated. Having a toddler keeps you on your toes! For those of you that are new, I am a mama to my angel baby, Josey Starr, and adoptive mama to my pride and joy, Zoey Beth. We lost Josey due to severe preeclampsia (borderline HELLP). I spent a month in the hospital fighting the disease and it almost took me with it. Preeclampsia is serious stuff, folks!

Long story short, we were told not to try again, then to try again, and eventually we adopted. Now that I'm considered a "mid-life" mama (ugh), the thought of another pregnancy that may or may not have a happy ending was too much. We've finally found our happy place. The scars from our loss still remain and Josey is never far from our minds, but we've found ourselves again and are enjoying life once more.

(Note: If you are thinking about adopting, but don't know where to begin, feel free to email me at kams.blog21@gmail.com. I know how overwhelming it can seem. So, let's talk; I absolutely LOVE sharing our story and helping others begin their adoption process!)

Lately our days consist of chasing a rambunctious toddler and renovating our home. We've been transients (aka homeless) for the past two months. I'm holding out hope that we'll be back in our house sometime next month. Please, sweet baby Jesus, let us be in our house! LOL

You can check out my renovation blog HERE. I'm hoping for lots of updated pictures in the next couple of weeks! :)

  1. Hello from ICLW!! Your little baby is adorable!!! I'm very sorry for your loss though! I too am a loss mama

  2. I'm very sorry for your loss. After giving birth, my doctors were concerned when I started having lots of postpartum preeclampsia symptoms. I was put on bed rest for a month after delivering my son. I can't imagine the pain you went through losing your sweet little baby.

Your little toddler is adorable and your story is so encouraging! Thanks for sharing.

    (Happy ICLW!)

  3. Hi from ICLW! I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you've found a happy place though!

    Your daughter is adorable :)

  4. That picture of your baby watering the flowers is priceless! My little girl loves to do this too... although it seems she gets more water on herself than on the actual plants, haha.

I look forward to reading more about your story! I too am an adoptive mama of a rambunctions toddler. We couldn't be happier chasing her around! :)

  5. Hi kerry! I thought you had stopped blogging and now I realize it wasn't coming up on my feed! Boooo! But now it is, so I am happy to read along again.
