The Last Step | The M House

That's how long we've "officially" been on our adoption journey. Today, I checked off the very last item on my list - Z's social security card. I know I've said it before, but I'd go back and repeat every moment of those almost 2.5 years. At the time, the waiting seemed like forever. Now it's just a blur. I'm looking forward to our next chapter as a family. I'm sure there will be people who question some of our decisions - decision to adopt, keep in contact with Z's birthmom, etc., but it's what feels right for our family. In the end, that's all that matters.

Speaking of Z's birth family, we spoke to her birthmom last night. We're planning on getting together later this month. My husband and I are looking forward to seeing her and her kids, and showing off our little princess. I know they're going to love her!

For those of you still waiting, hang in there! You'll forget all about that "wait" soon enough. I promise. :)

  1. In the end you can only do what is right for your family. So glad that you can now begin your next chapters!
