A Whole New World

What did we ever do before we had Little Bit? I have no idea! We must have just sat around and wasted more time than not. It's only been 5 weeks and I can't remember my life before her. It's a "little bit" of heaven and oh so worth the wait and the heartache. She's such a good baby, although that temper flares every now and then. She definitely has a good set of lungs. ;)

Her favorite new thing is her Boppy Newborn Lounger. It lets her hang out comfortably and check out everything around her. She's really starting to be more aware of her surroundings. As of last Wednesday she was up to a whopping 6.5 pounds. However, I can tell she's gained since then.

I had to go back to work on Monday. It wasn't a very happy morning. I could not wait to get home. In a perfect world, I'd work part-time and stay home with her on my days off, but unfortunately, that's not real life. I'll leave you with a few cute pix I took before tonight's UK game. I had hoped to get her awake, but every time I want to take a cutesy picture, she decides to nap. But that's ok. She's still a cute little sleeping beauty!

  1. OMG! She is freaking adorable!!! I can't believe you have to go back to work! Don't you get some sort of parental leave? Sorry, I'm confused...I'm from Canada and adoptive parents get the same benefits as other new parents...52 weeks of paid (55 % of your salary) leave...I can't imagine how you felt leaving her!!!!

  2. We can take 12 weeks, but it is unpaid. You can use your vacation/sick time so that you are paid, but I only had 6 weeks. I could have gone ahead and taken the full 12 weeks, but I would not have been paid for the final 6 weeks. Our adoption went well over budget and financially we just couldn't cut it.
