Let the festivities begin!

Whoa! I need to catch my breath. Between the adoption, the upcoming holidays and this political season, I'm spent!

My democrat friends are moving to Colorado and Washington. **chuckle** My republican friends believe the end of the world has arrived. **sigh** I'm just happy it's over because emotions tend to get too high (no pun intended) and erupt when it comes to politics, myself included.

Now that election day is over, did you know that Thanksgiving is two weeks from tomorrow? When did that happen? One of our local/regional radio stations is already playing Christmas music. For the first time in almost two years, I'm actually looking forward to the holidays. Christmas without the "magic" is downright miserable. I so understand why the holidays are stressful.

For now, I'm doing my best to live in the moment and believe everything will work out the way we hope. I didn't get to set up a crib for Josey or have a shower, but that's exactly what I'm doing now, even if it is a little modified. The crib's up, but not the entire nursery. We're still holding off on many things. And we're not having a shower, but we are doing a little something on Thanksgiving, with the family, just for the basics - diapers, bottles, etc.

I'm hesitant, but at the same time, life is short and I have to learn to accept the good days I'm given. If something were to happen and this didn't work out, we'll deal with it then. But I've had too many bad days and shed too many tears, so I'm going to give myself a few happy memories. So, let the festivities begin! :)
