Week in Review

Monday, October 22, 2012
What a week! I'm not sure where to even begin. I purposely stayed away from all things political last week. This meant no tv news, no debate, etc. I didn't want anything to spoil my good mood.

Thursday, my husband defended his dissertation. This was the last step he needed to complete his very long awaited doctoral degree in instructional systems design. Seven long years. Honestly, I would not have made it and I wouldn't have faulted him if he hadn't made it either. After 2010, I really thought he was going to throw in the towel, but instead he just worked that much harder. His committee chair told him it was one of the smoothest defenses he's ever had. Talk about one proud wife!

Our neighbor made him this delish cake and dropped it by the house before we got home. Shannon walked in and said, "Someone broke in and left me a cake!"

It's the little things...lol

Needless to say, neither one of us could wipe the smile off our faces.

Friday, we went to C's doctor's appointment (Baby Girl's birthmom). We met her mother and was able to visit with both of them. Baby Girl is doing great and is scheduled for arrival a few days after Christmas. That being said, we also found out that C normally delivers early, and we should be prepared come early December. I've decided I should probably buy a couple of Christmas outfits just to be safe! :)

We also have our crib and bedding. Now that there's no dissertation to worry about, we're thinking about going ahead and setting up the nursery. My awesome sisters bought Baby Girl's bedding. She's going to be a purple girl.

Two more months. I can't believe it. I'll be holding my breath until then.
