Best Mama Wannabe

Monday, August 20, 2012
Lately, I’ve let my mind wander to the faraway place where maybe, just maybe, I get to be Mom. I realize at this point it’s too late for me to reasonably expect to have a large family similar to my own. If only I could bring home one, I would be over joyed. Two would be better than hitting the Powerball. Regardless, I want to be the best mama I can be!

That being said, if this does actually happen, we want to be prepared. There are so many things you can do for your children today that you couldn’t do when I was a baby (or at least it wasn’t as well advertised).  When I was pregnant with Josey, I remember my mother-in-law telling us she had taken out a life insurance policy for her and she could cash in the policy at 18 for college, if she chose to do so.  I thought that was the greatest thing I’d ever heard!

There are so many life insurance companies out there, such as Mozdex, which offer many different types of policies.  My cousin even told me about policies that can be taken out while you’re still pregnant.  Others allow you to take out policies on the child once they’re a few days old. While I’m definitely not an expert, I do know this is something we will be looking into should the day ever come.

Brought to you by your friends at Mozdex.
