Open Letter to Future MegaMillions Winner

Wednesday, March 28, 2012
Dear Soon-To-Be Luckiest Person/People on the Planet,

Wow! Congratulations! You must be in disbelief! I know you will soon be bombarded with old family members you haven't seen in years and "friends" you didn't even know you had, but I can tell you, I'm probably neither. I more than likely have no idea who you are; however, I do have a request. Shameless, I know.

That being said, my request is different than most you will hear. I'm not asking you to pay off my mortgage or buy me a new car. No, I like my little house just fine and my cars are paid in full. I'm asking you to help us fulfill our biggest dream - becoming a family through adoption. It's chump change, really. You won't even miss it. I promise! Plus, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that your fairy tale-come-true helped our fairy tale come true. I'm not even asking for a set amount, just enough to cover whatever costs we incur, be it agency fees, attorney fees, and/or birth mother expenses. You don't even have to give us the money. You can pay our agency and attorneys directly. Not a penny more.

Again, congratulations on such an incredible win! My husband and I wish you all the best as you begin this new chapter in your life. I hope you will graciously consider our request and know we would forever be grateful for your heartfelt gift.

Kerry & Shannon

  1. I love this! Hubby and I have agreed that if we ever win the lottery (which, of course won't happen since we don't play!), that we'll adopt a few more babies, and then help others do the same. Wouldn't it be awesome if this really happened??!!

  2. Interesting, never thought of writing a letter to a future mega millions winner. I dare say though that your request is very uncommon and honorable.
