Lights! Camera! Action!

Reality tv. I admit it; I watch it. However, I can proudly say I have never once watched any of the Kardashians or even Jersey Shore. Of course, there's plenty more to go around.

This morning I was checking my email and ran across one from someone I didn't know. This isn't unusual. I get emails every now and then from you, my faithful blog readers, so I didn't think much about it. Imagine my surprise when I saw it was from a casting coordinator for a docu-series on the path to parenthood and open adoption. It would be a 6-part series focusing on 6 couples/singles and their stories. Apparently, it's planned for a major network and it appears the production company producing the show has produced several well known reality shows.

Wowsers! I did some googling and was quite surprised. Is this real? I called DH and told him. He flipped, but not in a good way. He is a really private person. I also happen to have a complete phobia of being on camera. Weird, I know. BUT, who knows, right? I thought I'd get some more information anyway. Maybe it's something we'd want to do to raise awareness for not only adoption, but pregnancy loss, preeclampsia, etc.

Would you consider it? What are your thoughts?

  1. I agree it would raise awareness. Also you all are an educated, well-spoken couple - not the usual way Kentuckians are representedin the media :-) You would make our family and our state proud!

  2. I am a huge reality tv junkie! So, my initial thought was SWEET!!

But, honestly, I feel part of the reason we went through all we did was to help others learn about infertility and adoption. I'm open with anyone who will listen. You never know, you're story might be what someone needs to hear to make that step towards adoption. I say go for it! What have you got to lose?! I'm eager to see how it goes!! Good luck! Or should I say, break a leg?! :0)

  3. I think this sounds like an amazing opportunity. And, you may just find your baby on the way. Seems like a sign, a good one. Good luck in your decision!
