I've been so excited because after two years of no raises, we got a Christmas bonus! So I finally bought this great bench from Pottery Barn and a new kitchen table. We don't have a dining room, just a small area for a table that's in the kitchen. I found a gorgeous table to match my bench and I couldn't wait to get everything put together.  My bench went together perfectly. I was so proud of myself for doing it all on my own.

Yesterday my dad and I went to pick up my table. We got it home and everyone scattered. My parents actually have the same table and it took FOREVER to put together. So, I understand why noone wanted to stick around. Since I had no trouble with my bench, I thought I was completely capable of putting my table together.

After an hour just trying to get the box open, I should have thrown in the towel. Unfortunately, I didn't. The table went together just fine. The seats....not so much. I somehow managed to screw the chair to the table (long story). So now I have a nice hole in my table top. Not to mention it was already scratched. UGG. When I finally finished the chair, I turned it over only to realize it was all wrong. DH was ready to cuss me, I was on the verge of tears and all I could think about was how I just ruined my brand new table and chairs.  Dad called about that same time and asked where I was. I forgot it was opening night for my 9 year old sister. She was in her first Christmas play (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever). They've been working on it since September. So, I put down the drill (thank god), got dressed and booked it to pick up dad and get to the church.

Now, I have a pile of parts in the middle of my living room floor just waiting to be assembled. Alas, I am not touching them. Who knows when it will be completed? DH can't do it and my dad's sick. Bah Humbug. LOL

I can craft and bake and do all that wonderful stuff, but when it comes to assembly? I'm all thumbs. Do you have any nice neighbors or relatives that may be able to lend a hand?

Cute bench by the way..I LOVE PB!
