WW, Fitness and Getting Healthy

Sunday, November 07, 2010
It's the holiday season and there's nothing I love more than all the yummy food and parties. Unfortunately, my butt and thighs don't like it. I know this may seem a horrible time to start watching my diet and exercising, but  why not?

Tonight my sister and I are starting a 6-week Intense Fitness class. It is supposed to cover a lot of different types of fitness. I have to take weights, a mat, and my resistance bands. I'm also starting Weight Watchers on Wednesday. The university is offering it through work as a wellness program. There are about 40 of us signed up so far. I'm ready to kick what's left of this preeclampsia out the door. I'm hoping this will do it. No more high blood pressure! (Let's hope anyway.)

I decided I needed to be held accountable or else I wouldn't do it. Weekly weigh-ins and having to fork over cold hard cash will hopefully keep me motivated. I'm looking forward to some nice sore muscles tomorrow!

  1. Good for you! I hope that taking better care of yourself will help you physically and emotionally! :) I have just started a "get healthy kick", too with those same hopes...that getting my body in shape help me emotionally. No time like the present, right?

  2. I was on WW 2 years ago and it was THE BEST thing I could have done for myself and for everyone around me! I was miserable and then one day woke up and thought, okay, it's time. I lost 28 lbs in 4 months and never felt better about myself! It really is a fantastic program and I highly recommend it to everyone! And having a built in support group really helps!

Good luck and a high 5 to you!!

  3. It's great to hear the you are doing something to take care of yourself. I hope this turns out to be as good as it sounds and you get the support you need. It's great that you can go to the classes with your sister! I know I always exercise more when I have a "buddy".

  4. This sounds awesome! I started kicking my own butt a couple of weeks ago, and just signed up for WW. It's been... interesting, but good to keep myself accountable.

    Good luck my friend!

  5. The Fitness class sounds awesome! I'm doing WW currently. I started last Sept., got pregnant with Bailey in December, left WW at the end of January, and then went back in May after everything went to crap. I'm down 61 pounds and feeling better than I have in years!

Hopefully you are staying motivated! This is a great thing to do for YOU!
