Just another day

Vacation started early today. I had a pizza party with my sister and the rest of her fourth grade class, so I took off the rest of the day. One of the perks of working at a university is that we get quite a bit of vacation time around the holidays. It makes it nice, especially this year, because I used up most of my time during my hospital stay.

In other news, DH and I are dealing with some things at the moment, but it's one of those deals you just have to take day by day. Hopefully we can put it behind us next week. Of course, we thought we could last week too. Ugh. It's just a wait and see at this point. As if we needed another stresser at the holidays, right? Oh, and the icing on the cake? Our cleaning lady quit today after only coming twice. She left me a note that said it took too long to clean our house and it just wasn't worth her time. Wow, are we really that dirty? LOL Gee, thanks. In actuality, she didn't mean it that way, but I couldn't help but chuckle. Geez.

In the mean time we are staying busy, talking a lot whenever we have a down moment and trying to just stay on top of whatever might come our way. A nasty virus has made its way through my parents' house, so I'm going to help put up Mom's tree tomorrow. One of my sister's is having a Premier Jewelry party tomorrow as well. Thursday will be busy with family and Friday we're shopping. :) I did get an email from the adoption agency this week. They are planning on sending out letters concerning dates and times for our classes sometime next week. We're looking forward to getting that piece of paper. Even though it's not much, it's just an official reminder to us that we're on our way.

  1. Did you go to Carmen's class? so fun! I can't wait to put my tree up. Who are you going shopping with on Black Friday? Crazy. I got your gift, but i'm going to wait and open it on thanksgiving. so one of y'all better call me.

  2. I just wanted to let you know that thought it took a while, enjoying our new life (with all its ups and downs) as new parents made all the hassle of adoption worth while. And it healed my weary heart.
