Harry Potter, Adoption and the Holidays

Saturday, October 23, 2010
I just realized that we are less than a month away from the next Harry Potter film. SO EXCITED! I honestly didn't think I would be looking forward to the holidays this year. After losing Josey and DH's best friend I felt pretty positive I wouldn't be going to Thanksgiving dinner, putting up a tree or doing any celebrating what so ever. But now, I'm feeling a little different. November looks to be a okay. Our first informational meeting with the adoption agency, Harry Potter, DH's birthday, Thanksgiving and of course, Christmas shopping! Oh and let's not forget cousin Ashley and Baby CC! He will be making his appearance in December. It will be a great holiday season. I just feel it.

I know there will be moments of grief, maybe even days, but deep down inside I truly believe we'll get through it and actually enjoy it. Oh, and of course there's my precious new nephew I get to love on and buy Christmas gifts for now. It's hard to believe he was a month old yesterday.

I was going to leave you with a picture of our fur baby in his Halloween costume, but blogger isn't cooperating this morning. So if you'd like to see Newton in his VW bus Halloween costume, visit my photos on my blog's facebook page.  By the way, I'd love for you to join my facebook page!

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I am so glad that you are feeling peace and excitement about the holidays. They seem like such formidable hurdles without our babies. I'm so glad that you have so many things to look forward to.

  3. Remember, November is National Adoption Month too :) We actually brought our first son home from Ethiopia on his second birthday, which ended up being National Adoption Day that year (Nov 17). I know you're still in the early stages but I'm crossing my fingers that things move quickly and smoothly for you. No matter what it will feel like it's taken faaaar tooooo looooong, but it's so worth it in the end!
