Just Can't Take Anymore

Monday, August 09, 2010
I have officially reached my limit. I can't take anymore. This year just keeps getting worse and worse. I try so hard to stay positive, but when you keep getting knocked down over and over it's really hard to keep a smile on your face.

I could start a laundry list of the most ridiculous things people have done/said to us in the past four months. I really don't know how we're still standing.  There's those that are just power hungry and don't care if we're broken and dealing with a lot of difficult personal issues, then there are those that are so caught up in their own problems that they just want to pour them on us (as if we don't have enough to deal with), and then there are those who think we should have moved on by now, etc.  I could go on and on. What's worse is the people it's coming from, people we never would have thought would be so insensitive, callus and cold.

I believe we have handled ourselves very well, but I just want a break. Is that too much to ask? CAN WE CATCH A BREAK, GOD? Or are you even there, because I'm really starting to wonder.

  1. He is there. I promise He is there. I know the feeling you are experiencing right now though and I can see where you are coming from.

The good news is though, that even when we don't feel God's presence, He's still there. He's all around us and all you need to do is fall into His arms and exist. You don't need to be happy. You don't need to be strong. You just need to keep breathing and know that you are cared about and prayed for by so many people.

    Hang in there

  2. I just wish that if people had to say anything, they just start with "I'm sorry" and see where the conversation goes from there, taking the cues from us as to what and how much we want to talk about.

I'm sorry you have had so many insensitive comments. I've found that I get the most comforting comments from people I didn't expect to get them from and those that I expect them from don't say anything at all or say sometime stupid.

I've had my struggles with God since losing Jacob. I read something the other day that struck me though. A Mom was going in for an ultrasound to either determine the problems her baby would have or that her baby had died (I don't remember which at right now), but she said that her God coming out of that room was the same God that went into that room with her.

    Thinking about you.

  3. i am so sorry. i do understand, people were ready for me to move on the day after i came home from the hospital?!?!?!

hugs to you both... i agree, you've handled yourselves beautifully.

  4. I'm sorry! So many insensitive people in the world today. If you feel like talking or hanging out sometime let me know. Hang in there!

  5. Wow ~ this sounds just like something I posted a while back. I am so very sorry that you are being pushed to the very brink!

I know that feeling ALL TOO WELL. NO ONE should have to deal with more than a dead child. There should be a "free Pass" for the rest of the year, or couple of years so that no more crap can happen! It makes me so mad! I seriously want to yell at the people causing you pain and being so cavalier and callous to you!

I have just recently been able to stop someone in mid-conversation when I can tell it is headed to the BAD PLACE. The place where all the wrong things are said. I hope that you can get there soon...or tell someone who is hurting you "honestly" to STOP IT!

  6. We are all going through this IRL...it is really added stress and you would think that people who are watching us go through this would just NOT want to add any to us. It is hurtful in so many ways and lately I feel like I keep hearing more and more of us going through this, I get more comfort and love from those I NEVER expected and from those who I needed, have all turned their backs. It is times like these that you realize WHO is your true family and friends in your life......You learn who loves you when they still love you at your worst ((hugs))

  7. I'm so sorry! I've been told some stupid ones too. Why is it people do this? UGH!! They should just say I'm sorry. There is not a correct way to grieve for goodness sakes. Do what YOU need to do how you need to.

  8. Oh people and their unthoughtful words! I am so sorry. I hope you have better days ahead.
