Movin' on down the road

Finally, my blood pressure is NORMAL! Hallelujah! Of course, that's me being on new medication.  Hopefully in the next few months I can try to wean myself off of it completely.  At least it's a start.  I finally made it back to zumba last night.  Oh, how good it felt! Unfortunately, not being able to attend for several months left me severely out of shape. My face was purple for about two hours after class. LOL  Oh well. I'll eventually get back to the point I was before I got pregnant. 

I've already lost 7 pounds in my quest to get healthy again.  I was back to pre-pregnancy weight not long after I left the hospital, but then when Aunt Flow welcomed herself back into my life I went on an eating bender.  I am definitely an emotional eater. I gained 10 pounds.  Uggg.  But, thankfully, I'm at least healthy enough now to recognize the pattern and be able to get out and exercise.  Physically, I'm feeling pretty good.  Even better, my migraines haven't reared their ugly head yet.  My doc told me it's possible they may not return.  If that's the case (and so far so good), I've ended up with some pretty good lemonade out of some terribly rotten lemons. One reason I'm optimistic is because I've been testing my limits.  I have lots of triggers, a couple being corn and caffeine.  I haven't eaten corn on the cob in years and I love it. So, I broke down and bought a few to grill.  Imagine my surprise when...nothing! My god, they were good, as was the gigantic sweet tea I bought from McDonald's. Yum.  I'm not going to press my luck though. However, it's nice to know I can indulge every now and then.


  1. yay for 'normal' bp. MORE yay for not having migraines. I have no known triggers, but I have had horrendous classic migraines since I was a teenager. I was on a preventative which I had to d/c to start TTC. To my surprise when I got off of birth when we got pregnant (about a year, PCOS) I did not have any. I haven't had any post partum either. I would lose my vision, my left side would go numb, the puking, etc. I tried all acute treatments and only relpax worked a little. I was half dead for 4 hours instead of 8. I would have let them do brain surgery if they told me they could fix them. With medication I had about 2-4 a month.

    i'm an emotion eater too.... so feelin' you! lol it does help to recognize the signs doesn't it?

    Krystle, I try to comment on your blog, but it never lets me. I just read your post and I so call MTHFR the same thing! Also, after doing a lot of internet searching I found that this is also thought to cause migraines. I've been taking extra folic acid and B vitamins because of it and I'm wondering if that may be the reason for the disappearance of my headaches. Food for thought.

  4. I so thought I probably just annoyed you with my comments lol. When i started taking the PNV and extra folic acid (2mg extra bc of my migraines per the OB) I did some research that linked b vitamins and folic acid to lowering the number of migraines you get. I decided I was going to stay on vitamins but I ended up not. I'm going to start them again along with my 5mg of folic acid they want me to take now. I didn't search for anything relating to it and MTFHR just the vitamins in general.

    Oh & I just realized i'm an emotional eater..I gained 4 pounds the last few weeks.
