Bumps in the road

After talking about my test results, future plans, memorial day flowers, and everything SAD and DEPRESSING, Shannon and I had a little bit of a breakdown.  It seems to be harder to deal with the whole situation now than it did 2 or 3 weeks after.  I guess it's reality truly setting in and taking root.  Somewhere in the middle of our cry, Newton, our dog, climbed up next to us and started growling.  We ignored it at first, but then he broke into his famous, but ever so cute growl/howl.  It's the funniest thing you have ever heard.  We couldn't help but laugh.  We've got a saying, the three of us, to help get us through the rough patches, especially if one of us is having a down day and the other is not.  We'll grab Newton and go in for a group hug and a big "Team Murphy."  Ridiculous, I know. But whatever works, right?  Anyway, we chuckled at the growl and fist bumped Team Murphy.  What a way to come through for the team, Newt!

  2. My two dogs have been there for me this whole time, every time i cry my dog Boo comes and licks my eyes to the point where I have to push her away and start laughing...I feel like sometimes the babies push the dogs towards us to comfort us and know that we are loved...xoxo...

  3. My sweet Charlie was the light of my life after I lost my daughter. One week after Cara he needed emergency back surgery and three months later he had to be sent to heaven. I totally know how it is for the furry friends to see us through

  4. You both were on my mind yesterday and all day today. I miss you and think you both deserve and need this beach vacation! I'm so glad Newton was able to lift your spirits. Dogs are so much a part of the family. Please know, even though I'm not close by, I'm always thinking of you and a phone call away.

  5. The tough times just pop up out of nowhere sometimes... it's rough. It almost feels like when I am getting it together and things are looking up that WHAM! reality hits me all over again.

I love the Team Murphy fist bumps and hugs... how could you not stop and smile?!
